e-Portfolio

ICT INPUTS IN PHYSICAL SCIENCE

e-Portfolio is an electronic portfolio, digital portfolio or online portfolio.
It is a collection of electronic evidences assembled and managed by a user usually on the web.
Electronic inputs include text, e-files, images, multimedia, blog entries, hyperlinks etc.
One can regard e-portfolio as a type of learning record that provides actual evidence of achievement.
A well-executed e-portfolio program is an incredible tool for higher education.
The e-portfolios serves as a tool to collect and publish the work, reflect upon strengths and weaknesses, and strive to improve.
E-portfolios provide a rich resource for both students and faculty to learn about achievement of important outcomes over time, make connections among disparate parts of the curriculum, gain insights leading to improvement, and develop identities as learners or as facilitators of learning.
Good e-portfolio practice always includes the processes included within the broad concept of metacognition having students reflect on their work and think about their progress in learning.
