Websites

A website is a collection of related web pages. a website may be accessible via public
Internet protocol (IP) network , such as the Internet or a private Local area network
LAN. All publicly accessible websites collectively constitute the world wide web, while
private websites are typically a part of an Internet. It often starts with a homepage
containing a directory of the site content ( web content).
Some websites needs user registration or subscription to access content. examples of
subscription websites includes many business sites, news websites academic journal
websites etc.
Web pages, which are the building blocks of websites, our documents typically
composed in plain text interspersed with the formatting instructions of hypertext
markup language HTML).
Websites can be the work of an individual, business or other organisation and are
typically dedicated to a particular topic or purpose.Any website can contain a hyperlink
to another website.
Websites are written in, or converted to HTML and are accessed using a software
interface classified as a user agent. Web pages can be viewed or otherwise accessed from
a range of Computer Based and Internet enabled devices of various sizes, including
desktop computers, laptops and cell phones.
A website is hosted on a computer system known as a web server, also called an HTTP
server. These terms can also refer to the software that runs on these systems which
retrieves and delivers the web pages in response to the request from the website users.
Apache and Microsoft are most commonly used web server software.
Google Sites is a structured web page-creation tool offered by Google.
The goal of Google Sites is for anyone to be able to create simple web sites that support
collaboration between different editors.
Anyone having a google account can develop a google website in simple steps.
