CREATIVE COMMONS
LICENSE
The
Creative Commons licenses are standardized way to grant copyright permissions
of our e- creative work to others. Creative Commons license make it easy for users to share copyright
works. The Creative Commons licenses ensure that others can copy and distribute
your work, provided they give you credit and only on the conditions you
specify.
License Elements
There are four Creative Commons license elements.
- ATTRIBUTION
- SHARE ALIKE
- NO-DERIVATIVES
- NON-COMMERCIAL
ATTRIBUTION
This means that others must credit you as the original
creator of the work. All Creative Commons licenses require users to provide
attribution.
SHARE ALIKE
This means
that those who adapt or remix your work must use the same Creative Commons
license on any derivative works.
NO-DERIVATIVES
This means that others can share your work, but they must not
change it. Note that users still have the range of Fair Dealing rights granted
to them under the Copyright Act 1994.
NON-COMMERCIAL
This means that others may not share, adapt or reuse use your
work if their use is primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary
compensation.
The Six Common Creative Licenses
1. Attribution. CC BY

build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they credit you for the
original creation. This is the most accommodating of licenses offered.

with this license as long as the new creation is licensed under the same
license.

commercially as long as you use, distribute and publish it as a whole. (Not
allowed to adapt, modify or remix.)
4 4. Attribution-Non Commercial. CC BY-NC
This license lets others remix, adapt, modify and build upon
your work non-commercially, and although their new works must also acknowledge
you and be non-commercial, they don’t have to license their derivative works on
the same terms.
5 5. Attribution-Non Commercial-Share Alike. CC BY-NC-SA
This license lets others remix, modify, and build upon your
work non-commercially, as long as they credit you and license their new
creations under the identical terms.
6 6. Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives. CC BY-NC-ND
This license is the most restrictive of our six main
licenses, only allowing others to download your works and share them with
others as long as they credit you, but they can’t change them in any way or use
them commercially.
